Blog is Born! What a nice little Blog!

Dear Family, Friends and Visitors,

Welcome to the newly formed and easily contructed Blog site of Thomas Glenn and his spectacular family! Hooray! I'm Thomas Glenn. I'm a thirty one year old Opera singer and I live, most of the time, in beautiful San Francisco, California - the greatest city in the world! My wonderful wife is named Amy Glenn. She is a fantastic pianist and she's really cute too. She works as a coach at the San Francisco Conservatory, an organist at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Newark, CA and as a free lance accompanist around the SF Bay area. We have twin daughters named Audrey and Bronwyn. They are mischievous, creative and loud, but also terribly kind, thoughtful, expressive and sharing. They recently turned seven years old. They love arts and crafts, funny movies, outdoor games, board games, computer games and dessert! They take ballet and tap lessons, piano lessons and they love to go bowling, bike riding, kite flying, playing tennis and handball. We live in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of the city and have great neighbours. You can tell by the way I spelled 'neighbours' that I'm not truly an American. That's because I was raised in Calgary, Alberta Canada; a beautiful place if you ever get the chance to visit. My parents still live there and we try to make a trip there once a year.

My wife and I met 10 years ago and we will be married for nine years this November. During those years we've pursued degrees in Music at Universities in Utah, Michigan and Florida. We came here to San Francisco when I was offered an apprenticeship with the prestigious San Francisco Opera. Since then, I travel all over the world singing with various Opera Companies and Symphony Orchestras.

Our family lives a complicated existence. It's difficult to establish a routine when both the parents are performers. But, we love what we do and feel strongly that the world needs good music to hear.

So, this is my first Blog. I invite your comments, questions and emails. I enjoy talking on a variety of subjects including Politics, Religion, Music, Food, Film and Literature. I hope to issue a Blog installment at least once a week if not more frequently. My many thanks go to Apple, for selling me such a fine product as the 12" PowerBook G4 on which to create these Blogs and to the fine engineers and servers at blogger.com.
